How to Finish ResinMoldTM    

AFFIX IT FIRST: Since ResinMoldTM is flexible, and remains flexible, it is important to affix it to the application prior to finishing. This will avoid cracking of the finish.  For example, for the installation of casings one might affix it to a backing board then apply the structure to the door or window.

Only ResinMoldTM Premium can be Stained, ResinMoldTM Standard can be painted

STAINING:  ResinMoldTM is flexible moulding and cannot be stained the same as regular wood. ResinMoldTM comes pre-primed with a proprietary chemically formulated compound; an all purpose, porous primer. For best results, add a clear glazing compound to the wood stain. Normal ratio of mixing the glazing compound with the stain is one part glazing liquid to two parts of stain. Stains for Synthetic products are made to work with over synthetic surfaces.

Formulated wiping stains work well then apply a clear post catalyzed lacquer.

We suggest using KCMA Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer's Association Approved Products. 

GOLD FOILING:  ResinMoldTM can be applied with gold foil just as you would do with wood.
ResinMoldTM is preprimed with an all purpose, porous primer.

PAINTING:  ResinMoldTM comes pre-primed with a

proprietary chemically formulated compound.

This special primer is all purpose and porous primer.
